Our story
The reason for Beauty Banks
January 2018. Friends Sali and Jo start a social movement powered by the belief that being clean is not just fundamental to our physical, mental and emotional health - it’s a basic human right.
Appalled by the rise in hygiene poverty, they leverage their connections in the Beauty Industry to get self-care essentials to those who need them most.
Where we are now
Beauty Banks has vastly expanded its reach, working with a UK-wide network of like-minded people striving to eliminate hygiene poverty - from those within the beauty industry to our treasured beauty bankers, who collect donations on our behalf to benefit their local communities. Monetary donations allow us to buy further essential toiletries, store donations and distribute them to those who are most in need.
Nonetheless, we remain small but mighty, with a tiny full-time team supported by our wonderful volunteers.

Answering your questions
-
We at Beauty Banks believe essential toiletries are vital in affording people the dignity and self respect we all deserve. We want to give men, women and children what they desperately need to stay clean. But we aim to do more than distribute toiletries to those already in need. We are working with select MPs, press and other charities to lobby for lasting change.
